Looking Ahead: Bentleigh Uniting 3 2022 Batting Review

Reflecting on the last year’s performance of Bentleigh Uniting 3’s batters in the South East Cricket Association – E Grade, there was a visible and positive shift in individual and team contributions throughout the season.

Batting Contributions:

  • Wins Against Omega 3 and CHAG 2:

  • The top order batters made a major contribution in the game against Omega 3 with C Thiedeman scoring a memorable hundred. In the game against CHAG 2, the middle order, notably N Timms and C Manakis, played crucial roles, ensuring a successful chase.

  • Losses to Gladiators 1 and Highett West 1:

  • Despite the defeats, there were decent performances from middle-order batsmen such as C Manakis and R Davidson, both scoring half-centuries.

  • Close Matches Against Omega 3, Gladiators 1, and Hampton United 2:

  • Games were close in terms of runs and wickets. K Fuller and P Manakis demonstrated solid performances in top order, contributing significantly in the match against Gladiators 1.

Key Performances:

  • Above Par Scores:

  • Instances such as the match against Omega 3 where the team scored 201, showcased a strong team performance, with the top order, especially C Thiedeman, playing a significant role.

  • Progress as the Season Went On:

  • Players like P Manakis and R Thiedeman emerged as reliable batsmen, delivering consistent performances and scoring fifties against teams like Keysborough Park 1 and Hampton United 2.
