Unfortunately most of our junior teams were unable to take to the field this weekend due to weather restrictions, check in with us next week to see how they go!
Longmuir Shield v Brighton Union
In a strong display, our 1st XI secured a great win, successfully chasing down 210 in just 38 overs. Campbell James got the innings off to a flyer, smashing 42 off 29 balls to set the tone. With Jacob Gray leading the way with the ball, the team worked hard to restrict Brighton Union, laying the foundation for a convincing victory.
Quiney Shield v Omega
Our 2nd XI faced a tough loss, falling short in a tight contest. Despite posting a competitive total of 3/161, Omega chased down our score, finishing at 2/162. Jack Zaia stood out with a solid 67 not out, alongside Ollie Milner who contributed 40 not out. Unfortunately, the bowling and fielding departments couldn’t find the breakthroughs needed to defend the total.
H Grade v Elwood
The 3rd XI put up a fight against Elwood but came up short. Ben Desent had an impressive senior debut, taking 4/25 off just five overs, including a memorable moment where Ben bowled one out, caught by his father, P. Desent – a great family effort! J. Guttman also chipped in with 2/23. Despite their efforts with the ball, the batting struggled, with G. Aloi top-scoring with 34 and J. Guttman remaining not out on 16.
Senior Women
The senior women continued their inaugural season with spirit, despite a challenging result. Sarah Burke had a standout performance, taking two wickets in the same over. Erin Sanford impressed with her wicket-keeping debut, showing great promise behind the stumps. The team remains positive, ready to face Beaumaris next week.
Great performances across the board, as the club continues to fight hard this season!
