Pride of the Lions: Men’s Teams Update

Our senior men’s teams have been making waves this season, showcasing skill, determination, and the unmistakable pride of the maroon and gold. The Longmuir Shield side, led by captain-coach Lukas Galanopoulos, has been a standout, combining experience and fresh talent to deliver consistent and impressive performances. Their hard work and strategic play have them well-placed as they strive to lead the club to premiership success. The Quiney Shield team has shown resilience and grit, with players stepping up in key moments to keep their finals aspirations alive. It’s been a joy to watch their growth and determination each week.

Meanwhile, the H Grade side has displayed incredible teamwork, bringing energy and passion to every match. They’re building momentum as a squad and proving to be a competitive force in their grade. The 4th XI has been a mix of enthusiasm and experience, creating a wonderful environment for emerging players and seasoned campaigners to share their love of the game. We also witnessed history as three female players stepped up to make their debut in the 4XI, while the side did not come away with a wine the Sarah & Kate bowled excellently. Their camaraderie and effort embody the heart and spirit of Bentleigh Uniting Cricket Club.

As we head into the back half of the season, we’re excited to see how these teams continue to perform and represent our club with pride. A huge thank-you goes out to all the supporters, volunteers, and scorers who ensure game days run smoothly and create the vibrant atmosphere we love. The Lions are roaring—Go BUCC! 🦁

Lionesses on the Rise: Senior Women’s Update

Our senior women’s team is making history and turning heads in their inaugural season, with two wins now on the board! These Lionesses have shown incredible determination, skill, and team spirit as they establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Each week, they’re growing stronger, building confidence, and proving that Bentleigh Uniting Cricket Club is a place where women’s cricket can thrive.

The team’s victories are a testament to their hard work at training and their commitment on game day. Whether it’s sharp bowling, disciplined batting, or electric fielding, the Lionesses are coming together beautifully to showcase their potential. Beyond the results, the camaraderie and energy within the group have been inspiring, creating a welcoming environment for all involved.

We’re immensely proud of what the team has achieved so far and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds. If you’ve been thinking about joining or know someone keen to play, it’s not too late to be part of this exciting journey. Go Lionesses!
